
Launched in 2022, The Poetry Foundation's grant program provides general operating support to nonprofit poetry organizations, presses, publications, and select literary arts service and membership organizations based in the U.S. and U.S. territories, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the field of poetry and fostering sustainability within the literary arts sector. The Poetry Foundation recognizes the power of words to transform lives. We work to amplify poetry and celebrate poets by fostering spaces for all to create, experience, and share poetry.

The Poetry Foundation provides general operating support to nonprofit poetry organizations, presses, publications, and select literary arts service and membership organizations that are based in the U.S. and U.S. territories. For the full eligibility guidelines, please refer to the Grants FAQs. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may apply with a fiscal sponsor. Organizations have to have a minimum operating budget of $20,000, which can include in-kind revenue.
Applications open June 2, 2025 and are due July 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time.
